RAMS Midget Football
2012 - MIDGET NEWS
We regret to advise that there will not be a Midget program this year. When the midget football spring league was first brought into existence seven years ago, the bantam Rams program was quick to enter a team and had dozens of former players flocking back to the organization for a chance to play for their old team again.
We hope to one day revive the team. Good luck to all the CDMFA Modget teams this season.

Rams Midgets Head Coach Greg Johnson Announces 2008 Coaching Staff
“I am again very excited about the quality of this years coaching staff. Alberta U-17 Team North is again entering a team in this summers Canada Cup and the Bantams will have summer games teams to try out for. Both tryouts will fall in the Midget season. Players participating in the Rams Midget program will have a distinct advantage in making these teams. They will b e playing at game speed, be in game condition and have had the benefit of exceptional coaching. We have, without a doubt the best coaching staff in Midget football."
Returning on offense are current Rams bantam offensive coordinator Bruce Cunningham , 2nd year Chilliwack (B.C Junior league) lineman Matt White and Eskimo quarterback Jason Maas. New this year are first year U of A receiver Duncan Hankinson, first year Edmonton Huskie quarterback Andrew Sieben, 1st year Edmonton Huskie lineman Shawn Hutton and Bev Facey coach Zack Smith. Long time high school coach, now with the Edmonton Huskies, Pete Smith will b e the offensive coordinator.
Returning on defense are Sal coach Pat Schryver and 4th year Edmonton Huskie lineman Craig Gerbrandt. New this year are ABJ coach Kyle Skitsko , 2nd year Edmonton Huskie linebacker Korey Johnson and 1st year Edmonton Huskie defensive back Kurtis McDonald. Long time high school coach and 2 time Head Coach for Team North in the Senior Bowl Paul Schwartz will b e the defensive coordinator.
Negotiations are still ongoing regarding 2 more coaches.
Coach Johnson went on to add:
"The Rams Midgets have been in the Championship game in all of the 3 years the league has operated. I would expect another strong team this year. Considering the coaching staff on board we expect to be challenging for the championship again. The goal of our program is to further develop our high school players. The players who have just completed a midget season are light years ahead of players who have not suited up since last fall. Midget players participating at the high school spring camps always stand out.”
