ANOTHER FIRST!!

The RAMS held their first "All Rookie" camp on May 6th at the Rams clubhouse facility located just west of St. Theresa School in Sherwood Park. Just below was the first web notice of this camp which proved to be a great success!

This Rookie camp will be a one day camp beginning at 10 AM.It is limited to players who have NEVER played tackle football before and players graduating from Pee Wee football who have only played ONE year of football at the Pee Wee level. The camp is being held to assist raw rookies and those players relatively new to the game so as to give them some exposure to the game before they attend their tryout camp to help give each participant the most enjoyable experience at tryouts. The camp will educate new players with the very essential skills of football- showing you how to put on your equipment, what to use your equipment for and what NOT to use your equipment for. You will be taught the very basics of the game from stance, blocking, tackling, catching, passing and running with a football to the rules. This camp is not designed to be anything other than a camp that will make first time players more comfortable for their tryout camps and give them more confidence in the game. All athletes who are considering the game of football but have never played before are invited. If you have already attended the Rams April 15th spring camp, there is no charge. However, as this is a contact camp, you must be registered and insured with Football Alberta and a charge of $20 will be in effect. An equipment fitting appointment with our trainer will be necessary and you will be given a time once you have registered. Each player will be responsible for their own footwear (cleats or soccer shoes are recommended).
