Raymond vs Rams Two undefeated teams from two great communities met for the right to go on to the Provincial Final in Calgary on November 19. The place was Coronation Field and the stage was set for a great game. The teams did not disappoint. The Raymond Comets visited the Sherwod Park Rams and while playing their hearts out went down at the hands of the Rams 34-14. "Today was the offence's turn to make a statement" said Rams Offensive Coordinator Gary Rehman."We put together good long drives to control the ball and the clock." "That was our best all round offensive performance this season" added Coach Bruce Cuningham, Assistant Offensive Coordinator. Tyler Nelson led the Rams with 3 touchdowns and was a force all night rushing for over 150 yard adding a pick on defense and returning punts. "We really needed to take charge from the get-go and we did" said Defensive Cordinator Greg Johnson. After the game, the boys could be heard cheering- "We are going to the SHOW!" The "Show" is the Provincial championship game and it will be held in Calgary on Saturday November the 19th at Shouldice Park in Calgary as McMahon Stadium has been closed for the year. Game time is 2:30 PM. Shouldice Park is located at 1515 Home Road NW, Calgary.

The game on Sunday was the battle of the defensive titans of the league. Both the Edmonton Chargers and Sherwood Park Rams have big strong defensive units that are capable of dominating. The defensive units today did not disappoint with the Rams walking away with a hard fought 16-12 victory. While only Adam Beller and JC Chocair were able to find the end zone today, the Rams had two called back because of penalties. "Without the penalties the game would have turned out a little differently but that is part of football isnt it?"said Head Coach Skitsko. "Full credit to Coach Manko and his Chargers. They were cranked up and prepared and it showed. Our team can always count on the Chargers being well coached and prepared. Today we were just a little better" added the Coach.

The game next weekend, November 12, will feature the Rams and the Raymond Comets, the perennial power house in the South. The game will be played at 5 PM. The location has now been chosen! The game will be held at Coronation Field. All fans are asked to wear their green and gold colours to support our Rams. The winner will go on to face the Calgary Bulldogs.Go Rams!!

Terry Fox Run For the second straight year the Rams Football Club came out in full force to help the Sherwood Park chapter of the Terry Fox Society raise monies in the "Run for the Cure." The players, coaches, trainers and families came out to support the Rams alumnus, Ben Proulx. Ben lost his leg to cancer when he was only three and last year inspired our team to get better every day as he helped out with our training staff and players. In the lower right picture, you will see our club's VicePresident Lisa Schryver (proudly wearing her Rams jacket) and our team's general manager Susan Trachuk counting the more than $4500 raised by our team. Way to go boys. What a team this group of young men proves to be year after year in cancer fund raising regardless of the score on the field!

"RAMS ANNOUNCE 100% CONVERSION TO 'RIDDEL' REVOLUTIONS!"

Rams President Dwayne Nelson announced today that the club has purchased 50 Revolution helmets from the Edmonton Eskimo Football club. "The Eskimos decided to go to the 'Green Bay' gold on their helmets this year. That meant the Esks had to replace the ones they have and they offered them to us at a very reasonable price. We are fortunate that they thought of us" added Nelson.

"With the Rams, it has always been safety first," said the club president. "These helmets are the best helmet on the market today. We just decided to convert to all Revolution helmets at this time. We simply could not pass this up when the Eskimo trainer Dwayne Mandrusiak called us. Nothing but the best will do for our team when it comes to safety."

The Rams want to publicly thank the Edmonton Eskimos for offering these helmets to our team. Each Ram will wear his helmet with pride knowing that we are a member of the "Green and Gold" family.

RAMS Golf Tournament a Huge Success!

The Rams held their 6th Annual Bursary Golf Tournament today and it was the biggest and best ever!
